WORSHIP at TRINITY

With direction from the CDC, Minnesota Department of Health and Polk County Public Health, Trinity is beginning its phased-in reopening for in-person worship. Trinity's Congregation Council and Worship and Music Team have engaged discussion about how this will happen for us. While guidelines allow for up to 50% capacity, Trinity's sanctuary cannot socially distance at that rate, so we will limit seating to 25% capacity (108 people).

Blue painter’s tape applied on sanctuary pews show where people should NOT sit. You may sit where there is an open space. There are 28 spaces marked on the main floor for three people to sit together, giving us an 84-person capacity there. Each balcony has four pews available for three people to sit per pew giving us an extra 24-person capacity (12 per balcony).

Health Screening Checklist: If you are feeling poorly, please to not attend in-person worship, rather worship from home. Everyone attending in-person worship will have to do a self-screening assessment. If you answer “YES” to any of these questions, you are asked to stay home.
Fever or feeling feverish?              Chills?                             A new cough?                 Shortness of breath?
  A new sore throat?                       New muscle aches?        New headache?                  New loss of smell or taste?

Facemasks: Everyone attending worship must wear a facemask. Facemasks are worn for the safety of others, but everyone is safer when we ALL wear a facemask. If you are not able or willing to wear a facemask, we ask that you worship with us from home via radio, cable TV, or Facebook Live.

One Entrance: Please enter Trinity by the East parking lot doors. You are expected to acknowledge that you answered "NO" to the self-screening questions. Please use hand sanitizer upon entering the building. Those attending worship will register with a greeter and will be directed to take the stairs or elevator to the sanctuary level.

Sanctuary: You will be greeted by an usher and directed to an open space on the main floor. Should the main floor fill, the balconies will be used. Able-bodied people may be asked to move to a balcony space. Hymnals and bibles will be removed from the pews. All responses and words to music will be projected on the screen. Please do not sing. Gentle humming is allowed.

There will be a plexiglass barrier between the worship leaders, musicians and the congregation. Air conditioning will run before worship but will shut down during the service to eliminate air flow within the sanctuary. You are expected to honor social distancing (at least 6 ft. of separation) and keep your facemask on during worship. There will be no physical exchanges with other people (NO hugging, handshaking, fist bumps, high fives, etc.) Offering plates/boxes will be available for contributions as you enter or leave the sanctuary.

Holy Communion: Trinity’s Altar Guild will have communion elements in individual cups; the cup will contain a wafer and a small glass of wine/juice. The pastors and worship leaders will bring communion to you where you are seated. Please reach for your own cup and keep it for disposal as you leave the sanctuary at the end of the worship service. A waste bin will be provided.

Leaving: Ushers will dismiss people from their pews to avoid gatherings in contained spaces. You may leave by any entrance but please move outdoors as expediently as possible, honoring social distancing. People are invited to visit with each other once they are outdoors while still wearing facemasks and social distancing.

Bathrooms: People attending worship are restricted to using only the sanctuary level restrooms.

Prayer of St. Francis

 Lord,
Make me an instrument of your peace.
where there is hatred, let us sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is discord, union;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy;

Grant that we may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love.

For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that
we are born to eternal life.
Amen.
